Partner Counseling Referral Services

HIV infection is a serious condition that affects not only the infected individual, but also his/her sex or needle-sharing partners. An experienced epidemiologist is responsible for interviewing newly diagnosed cases of HIV infection or AIDS and individuals living with HIV who have been diagnosed in another state and have moved to Idaho.

During the interview individuals are provided with helpful information about HIV, risk reduction guidance, counseling, and referrals for medical care and social services. The epidemiologist will also work with the individual to determine how best to notify potentially exposed sexual or needle-sharing partners.
